Winter Fashion: What’s in Style This Season?

This winter season is going to definitely be a big one in the world of women’s fashion. It seems like everything old is new again including the 80’s fashion trend of leg warmers! Some of these fashions, colors and styles will bring you back in your mind to a different time or decade, yet these styles are also updated for the 21st century woman.

The colors that will be popular this season are black, gray, cream, brown, tan, beige, red, burgundy, crimson, orange and several beautiful shades of blue such as dark navy blue and teal. These colors will be set off by the more vibrant colors of the accessories that will be popular in the fall and winter season.

As is the case with every winter, boots will be an important staple in the wardrobes of most women. This year will be no exception, and the styles of boots available will be all over the spectrum from very high boots to over the knee boots to mid calf, ankle and shoe boots. The styles and colors will be such that any woman will be able to find the perfect boot to go with any outfit.

The great thing about boots is that you can always find a style that suits your leg. For some people, an ankle boot would not be a good choice because of the size of their calves, however a shoe boot would look fantastic. For a sexier look, higher boots with heels are always a good choice. There will be a great selection of riding and biker style boots this season as well. Boots with embellishments such as buckles, bows and beading will be a popular choice as well.

Another trend making a comeback this winter season will be animal prints. These fabrics will be accessories to the more basic color tones mentioned previously. In addition, long sweaters with tight leggings underneath will be a choice that many women make both for going out and staying home. Leggings will be available in basic colors, but also in some really cool and funky styles.

As for jewelry, chunky is the word of the season. Chunky necklaces, rings, bracelets and earrings will be worn by those who are fashion conscious. It is all about making a statement this season, and big jewelry always helps to that end.

More good news for those ladies who loved the 80’s: The skinny jean is back! These jeans were popular back then and they have resurfaced for the 21st century woman. These jeans will look great under a long tunic or sweater with some spiky high heels or high boots.

The key this winter season is to have fun with all of the styles available. Shake things up with color, chunky jewels and matching shoes. Do not be afraid to go a little “out there” in your style and get noticed.

The great thing is that many stores online and offline will have great sales on these staple items. You can really stock up and be the hippest lady on the block this winter.

Fashion seems to change and grow year after year, but the year 2010 will bring back some old favorites that you may remember from times gone by. Of course, this year will also bring some very new and trendy fashion styles as well.

Here is a sneak peek at what this year will bring in the world of fashion:

  • Boots, boots, boots! Boots will be the “in” thing this year. There is such a variety of styles and colors this year that it will be hard to choose which ones you want. Thigh-high boots are one fashion trend that will be making a huge splash this season. The colors will be unending, but you can believe that black will be the staple of your wardrobe. Buckles, bows and other adornments will also be popular.
  • Cloaks and capes: You may feel like a super hero, but cloaks and capes are another blast from the past popular choice this season.  You will have your choice of longer ones as well as cropped versions.
  • Leather: Believe it or not, leather is coming back! You do not have to be a biker chick to wear leather. There are some great options this season with skits, jackets and other pieces that you can jazz up with some chunky jewelry and a pair of kickin’ boots.
  • Chunky jewelry: While we are on the subject, chunkier jewelry is going to be huge in the 2010 fashion season. Big, bold necklaces coupled with larger earrings, bracelets and rings will make a statement in your wardrobe for sure.
  • Stockings and tights: This is one thing that is making a big comeback this season. We are not just talking about opaque, one-color tights, rather we are talking about funky patterned tights and leggings that will certainly cause a stir when you wear them!
  • One shoulder clothing: We will also see a lot of tops and dresses with one shoulder covered and one shoulder exposed. This was popular back in the 80’s as well, so we can see where a lot of these trends are coming from!
  • Military fashion: Remember when Michael Jackson wore his military styled jackets in the 80’s? This is one of those fashions that has come back around as well. Expect to see them this fall and winter.
  • Ripped Jeans/Patched Jeans: Again, this is another blast from the past, but ripped jeans are coming back in style. Then, what do you do with ripped jeans? Well, you patch them of course! Therefore, patched jeans (which were popular in the 1970’s) are coming back in style too.
  • Sheer clothing: Another 90’s popular style was black sheer clothing, and that is coming back too. Wearing sheer tops with skinny jeans will really bring you back to that time.

As you can see, many trends are making a re-appearance this year. For those who were alive during the 70’s and 80’s, this will be nothing new, but will have a current spin on it.

Capelta Aurora (Women's) - White/BlackIn the chill of the winter climate, you want to make sure that your fashion keeps you warm while still making you look sexy hot, right? Let’s face it, you cannot walk around in the snow wearing a bikini, so you have to find a way to still feel feminine while not catching pneumonia because of your attire!

This winter season will be all about looking sexy while also looking appropriate for the season you are in. For example, one of the big fashion trends this year will be wearing capes and wraps. These will come in long and cropped versions that will look fabulous over a pair of skinny jeans.

Speaking of skinny jeans, those are high fashion now! Remember you skinny jeans from the 80’s? Well they are extremely popular now which makes so many other trendy items look great. Big sweaters and tunics look fantastic over a pair of these jeans because they make you look ultra thin. What could be better than that?

As usual, boots are all the rage this season also and they look great paired with skinny jeans. Wear a taller boot over the top of the jeans for a cute look. Thigh high boots have come out of the bedroom and into public life this winter season, so that is one option you can certainly try. Of course, if you are not daring enough to wear a thigh high boot yet, you may want to try over the knee boots.

Many women do not think that they can “pull off” wearing such sexy boots, however one great option this season is the Eskimo boot. These were made popular several years ago by some famous designers, however designer Monique Capelta has taken the Eskimo boot to a whole new level with her Aurora boot. In fact, you may have seen Debbie Matenopoulos  holding these boots at a recent event.

These boots are 47 centimeters tall with an 8 centimeter heel. They are made of white faux fur with black tips. They also have a silver/black fur toe and heels which make them very unique and couture. There are also hand painted silver accents and a full zipper inside. These boots are truly unique and cannot be found just anywhere. They are hand-made and designer chic!

Eskimo boots are a sexy alternative to coming out of your home wearing thigh highs. For women who want to look sexy and cute without looking like they are going to the local dance club may find that the Eskimo boot is a great alternative. They look awfully darling with skinny jeans, but also look great with a short skirt and opaque tights.

This winter fashion season should prove to be unique in that these clothes and accessories are finally coming off the runway and landing in the closets of ordinary women all over the globe. There seems to be a good mix of style and color that will fit the needs of many fashion conscious women all over the world.

Capelta Gold Star (Women's) - BrownYou have to imagine that sometimes the job of a clothing designer must be pretty difficult. Can you picture yourself coming up with new styles and trends every single season (winter, spring, summer and fall) that are new and hip? Plus, you are competing for time and recognition within the fashion industry! No one wants to be the designer who is not cutting edge or who keeps rehashing the same, old boring look.

At the same time, the old saying goes “Everything old is new again” for a reason. Some styles stand the test of time and seem to re-appear every few years, but in a new incarnation. In reality, there are only so many fashions that can be created before designers must start delving into the old standbys.

One way of creating a new fashion out of old ones is by mixing two trends together that do not seem to necessarily fit with one another. For example, mixing 80’s leg warmers with a more modern mini-skirt might appear a little off beat, yet work as a great style for a young teen today. For those who loved their bell bottom pants in the 1970’s, you know that you have seen that same style come and go many times over the years.

Shoes are another area where designers have a license to mix styles. Recently, I even saw some Converse styled sneakers that were made into high heeled boots. This was a mixture of three different styles: high boots, sneakers and pumps. To the youth of this generation, this is a whole new style while to those who have lived a few more years this is just a new incarnation of an older style.

One fantastic example of this phenomenon is a couture boot by the designer Monique Capelta. This boot is called the Goldstar and is extremely popular among celebrities such as actress Ana Maria Perez de Tagle (of “Camp Rock” fame).  This boot truly blends the styles of the Western cowboy boot and the popular winter Eskimo boot while also adding a couple of really cool finishing touches.

This boot is 45 centimeters high and is a brown leather boot with hand painted gold and silver accents. It has a traditional cowboy heel, but has a surprising faux fur body like an Eskimo boot. There are also gold eyelets around the rim. Another unique feature of this great boot is the Swarovski amber jeweled design. In essence, you have a rugged cowboy boot coupled with a warm Eskimo boot and finished off by the elegant detail of the Swarovski crystal accents.

Yes, it is true that everything old is new again, but by mixing and matching apparently unrelated styles, designers can always create something unique and modern that consumers and fashion mavens will adore. This fall and winter season promises to bring other such astounding style mixtures as well. Only time will tell what else we will see from these amazing designers, but if history is any indication it will be great!

Capelta Rock Star (Women's) - BlackNever has there been a better time than now to start jazzing up your wardrobe. If you walk through any mall in America, you are going to be overwhelmed at the huge variety of styles and trends this season. There is something for everyone from the conservative to the extremely wild fashion diva. One common theme this fall and winter season is that women seem to want to let a little bit of the wild side, bad girl, no holds barred, take no prisoners image to emerge!

Women have historically been told to be more conservative in their attire however the last few decades have proven that old rule no longer applies to most women. This season, on the other hand, seems to blow the conservative theory completely out of the water. The newest styles call for a sexier and sassier woman who wants to show off her figure and her personality. Gone are the days of frumpy big shirts and baggy jeans. A woman is meant to be curvy and sexy and feel good in her own skin. What better way to really jump out of your comfort zone than to dress like a rock star?

One rock star fashion that is making a comeback this season is black leather. You can wear leather in skirts, jackets, boots and other accessories. Leather can be an elegant style as well, so do not believe that you have to look like you just stepped out of a biker bar if you wear leather.

Torn, ripped and patched jeans are another 80’s revival that has come back, and those jeans certainly lend themselves well to creating a rock star look. Coupling that style with the right bulky earrings and jewelry will really complete the look. You might be asking: what about footwear?

Naturally, a rock star is either going to wear spiky stiletto heels or some kind of boots. One great option are the Capelta Rockstar boots. These boots are aptly named because they suit this purpose perfectly. They are Western cowboy inspired black boots with the traditional Western heel.  They are 45 centimeters tall with a 10 centimeter heel. They feature metallic frosted rabbit fur down the sides and a decorative Swarovski jeweled toe. With their artistic silver studded design, these boots are great for a night on the town. They also have a jeweled front and side pattern with silver eyelets around the rim.

Capelta is known for its extraordinary boot designs and this one is no exception. For a complete rock star look, you cannot go wrong with boots that mix fur, metals and crystals to create this special look.

Being a rock star is out of reach for most women, but having the look is completely achievable if you know what you are looking for. Create your own look and make it a personal choice. It is time for women to let that small little voice inside of them speak up and say “I want to be a rock star!”

Capelta Alma Breu (Women's) - BlackIf you have ever watched an old Western movie on television, you will almost always notice that the man wearing the white hat is the good guy and the man wearing the black hat is the bad guy. It seems this idea has taken hold over the years because “bad boys” almost always wear black leather, black boots and other black attire. The same can be said for women who wear black leather mini-skirts or black leather jackets.

The reason for this is because black is the color of intrigue and danger. Women have historically liked to wear a lot of black to hide what they perceive as flaws in their figures as well. Every season of fashion has included the color black as it would be hard to create anything sexy, sophisticated or dangerous without the use of this color.

This fashion season should be called the “Year of the Boot” because this footwear phenomenon is going to take the world by storm. The huge variety of styles of boots this year is mind boggling from thigh high boots all the way down to shoe boots. There is literally something for every single woman out there no matter what her figure challenges may be.

Playing on that old Western movie theme, Capelta has created a black Western cowboy boot called Alma Breu. This charming couture boot features silver handles and a silver studded toe. It has silver accented trim and is 34 centimeters tall making it suitable to wear with jeans or even a cute little dress and stockings. A woman can create quite the bad girl look using these boots as the basis for her outfit.

Because leather clothing and ripped jeans are coming back into vogue this season, these boots will be a staple that any woman could wear to complement her new look. We all need stand alone accessories and shoes in our wardrobe that will work for a variety of different outfits. Boots play a major role in the closets of most women as they are a great “go to” item.

Cowboy boots have long been a favorite among women who like to sometimes dress in a more rugged, but not masculine, look. Throwing on a pair of sexy distressed blue jeans and a popular plaid shirt along with a great pair of kickin’ cowboy boots is a great way to dress in a relaxed yet sexy way. Black cowboy boots are great to have available since they match just about any other color and can stand the test of time.

Investing in the perfect pair of black cowboy boots is a worthwhile endeavor since they will likely never go out of fashion. Look for a boot made by a reputable designer who uses high end materials so that the investment you make will last a long time. Remember that you will be wearing these boots for many years to come, so don’t buy cheap materials. Invest in the best and then keep them forever!

Capelta Onyx Aire (Women's) - BlackIn all honesty, most women have a hidden desire to be a little bit bad from time to time. Just about every woman on the planet has a little hidden biker chick inside just desperate to come out. However, most of us do not have the motorcycle to go with it that desire! Sometimes, just wearing the clothing will give us a little of that “edge” we want, however. This fall and winter season is going to provide many women with the chance to step out on the ledge and let their wilder side show through.
As an example, can you believe that ripped jeans are coming back into fashion? It seems these turn up denim pants are always coming in and out of style. Now, when you couple these jeans with the right accessories, you can feel just a little bit rougher around the edges.

Another example of the biker chick look this season is the re-appearance of leather into the fashion world. Just as ripped jeans were, leather was also once very popular but went out of favor for a time. Now, black leather jackets and skirts are all the rage again. Maybe it is because of the economic downturn and so much bad news recently, but it seems people are ready to step out in style again and create a stir doing it!

One great way to really make your outfit look more like a biker chick is with boots. There is one special pair of boots on the market right now that fits the bill perfectly. This pair of couture boots is made by designer Monique Capelta, and they are called Onyx Aire.

These soft mid calf black leather bootie boots are the perfect mix of bad girl style and classy elegance. They are 34 centimeters tall with a silver frosted rabbit collar around the calf. They feature a black wooden stiletto heel, and a pyramid studded side pattern that gives that rough around the edges feel. There is a silver studded belt around the ankle area with a Swarovski jeweled buckle. Inside there is a full zipper to make getting them on and off a cinch. The heel is 9.5 centimeters, so you are going to get that long, lean and sexy look when you wear these boots.

These particular boots will totally transform an outfit into the perfect biker girl look. Pair them with a skinny jean and a cool biker jacket and you have a look to die for! You could also put them with that perfect little black dress for a totally different look. Even with an eye popping red dress, these boots would be amazing.

Fashion is a personal choice, but this season you have the ability to really jump out there and develop your own style. You can be known amongst your friends as being the trend setter. Try out many different styles and don’t be afraid to attempt a new look that you have never tried before. Be adventurous and bold!

Capelta Alma Brava (Women's) - BrownThis Fall and Winter season will feature a variety of new and old boot styles with interesting twists. One of the biggest hits of the fashion runways will be western styled boots featuring the intermingling of other style elements as well.

This season, all different styles of boots will be jazzed up with embellishments and adornments that have not been seen previously. The styles will be a little wilder, a lot sexier and have a no holds barred feel to them. For women, these sexy and sassy styles will be plentiful in the area of boots. It seems like designers have decided that nothing is off limits, so women are getting a free pass to reveal their sexy sides through the use of boots.

One such Western styled boot that is a popular choice is made by the company Capelta. This couture boot is called the Alma Brava. With an 8.5 centimeter traditional cowboy heel, these brown leather realistic looking cowboy boots come with a style all their own. They are dazzled up with gold accented trim and metallic gold handles. The gold studded toe really sets off the look.

These particular boots are great to wear with jeans, but also with a skirt. That is the great thing about boots this season- they can truly be worn for any occasion and with just about any outfit. It seems like society has finally come to the place where nothing in fashion is off limits. A person has the ability to set their own trends!

Capelta did just the same thing just a couple of years ago when the founder, Monique Capelta, noticed that people all around her were wearing the same boots, shoes and clothing. There was no uniqueness to the fashion she was seeing, so she set about creating her own stylish couture boot line that has taken the fashion world by storm.

Fashion is a personal choice and is really all about creating a look that you want for yourself. You do not have to look like a runway model, but rather be happy with your own trend setting methods. The great thing is that you have so many options to pick and choose from these days that it is easy to try a lot of different avenues before you come up with your very own style.

Do not be afraid to jump out there and try the Western boot craze this season. Be sure to invest in good quality, however, because if you are going to make a statement it might as well be a good one! Boots are one of those time tested accessories that you can wear for many years to come, so it pays to invest in the best brand using the highest quality materials.

Be the trend setter among your friends and take some risks this season with your boot selection. Others will look to you, and realize that it is okay to make some quirky, eccentric looking selections for your Fall and Winter wardrobe.

Capelta Billie Jean (Women's) - BlueWhen we think of denim, we have a tendency to think of casual attire mostly such as blue jeans, jean jackets and that cute little denim mini-skirt that we barely fit into but still love to wear. We also think of denim as something you make overalls out of, but if you are not a farmer you may not want to go that route! However, denim can be used for a number of other fashion accessories!

This season, denim is a big part of the fashion trends. As an example, denim hats are all the rage in some circles. Teens and “tweens” are big proponents of these denim hats, especially if they feature the shirt brim on the front. They can be jazzed up with embellishments to coordinate with a funky new outfit as well. These hats have been around for a few years, and they are not going anywhere anytime soon.

Also, denim handbags are coming back into fashion, but these are not your mother’s old blue jean looking handbags. These bags are adorned with embellishments, jewels and other kinds of embroidered patterns making them both a blast from the past and a new trend. It is amazing how some designers have the forethought to look back in time at what worked in the fashion world from years gone by. They can take those elements and recreate them to make them unique in today’s world. This takes a lot of guts as no designer wants to be seen as “old school” or a copycat.

One such bold designer is Monique Capelta who created her own line of couture boots just a couple of short years ago. These boots have taken Hollywood and the fashion world by storm because of their ingenious designs and sometimes outlandish styles. These boots are truly cutting edge in the design world, and you cannot take your eyes off them! One such design features a full denim look that is unique all on its own.

Her denim boot design is called the Billie Jean and is in a Western design. At 37 inches tall, these boots would look fantastic with a skirt or jeans. They have a traditional Western heel, belt loop handles and gold eyelets around the rim. There is a fantastic outside jean pocket where you can slip your cell phone or store your money for a night on the town. They also have an embossed leather toe and heel to add that extra pizzazz.

From purses to pants to boots, denim is one of those fabrics that never seem to go out of style. Every year, denim makes a re-appearance in a different form or fashion. It is one of those durable fabrics that seem to have a new incarnation every fashion season, kind of like the cat with nine lives. It is no wonder since denim was first brought into use to weather the rough and tough lifestyle of the Old West, so it can certainly weather the storm of the fashion world.

Capelta Sahara Breeze (Women's) - TanSometimes women feel the need to just dress a little wild. So many ladies spend their days as stay at home mothers chasing children around, doing laundry and cleaning up behind everyone. Or maybe you are a woman who goes to work every day wearing your conservative business suit and basic black pumps. Perhaps you like a night on the town, but you feel like you are a little too old for that tight little black dress you wore ten years ago. Every woman on the planet has her regular life, and with that comes obligations and roles that we feel we fit into snugly. However, women are not made to be creatures of habit and boredom.

The great thing about the fashion season of fall and winter this year is that it is about breaking the rules and shattering the mold that has created our lives. Sure, we love being mothers and business women, but there is so much more to a woman than the role she happens to be in at the present time. One way to showcase that zest for life that is living inside each of us is through the use of clothing and accessories. It is but one way that we can all come out of our shells and slide into our true skin.

This year of fashion is about being daring and stepping out into places you may not have gone before. The purses, shoes and apparel that are available this season can help you make the statement that you want to make about your life and your aspirations. For example, if you have been clutching that same boring black hobo bag for the last year, now is the time to donate it to the local thrift store and grab up a leopard fur bag and some matching stiletto heels. Throw your ideas about what is and is not okay in the world of style and set your own fashion trends.

This year is about throwing fear and trepidation out the window in exchange for the freedom of knowing that it is about what you like and what makes you light up inside. One example of throwing conservatism out the window is the boots being made by couture designer Capelta this year. For instance, the Sahara Breeze Tan boots that celebrities are raving about would be a great purchase to make. These boots are made of natural tan suede with a wooden stiletto heel. They are covered in white authentic fur and tan fringe. They are a sure walk on the wild side, but they will make you feel like the center of attention when you wear them. Actress Rumer Willis (daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore) was spotted wearing these ultra chic boots recently.

Now is the time to throw caution to the wind and take some fashion chances. There is plenty available to choose from right now, so be brave, be bold and start shopping for the items that set your soul on fire.

Capelta Sahara Breeze (Women's) - BlackMany women really enjoy following the fashion trends of celebrities in Hollywood. They read magazines about fashion, and attempt to recreate the same looks that other famous women have compiled in their wardrobes. Sometimes, the cost of these items is way far out of reach for your everyday woman. However, there are some styles that can be mimicked for a reasonable cost as well.

One huge trend this season is fur and fringe. You will see a lot of fur this winter on coats, wraps, sweaters, boots and other accessories. Most will be faux fur, but you might also see some rabbit furs in there as well. You will also see a bit of fringe adorning many outfits this fall and winter. This is a fun way to spice up your wardrobe!

Fur has always been a part of the fashion scene. Even our grandmothers and great grandmothers may have had a fox wrap or a fur hat of some kind. Women have always accessorized using different types of furs. Many designers have now changed over to using faux fur, but some still use elements of real furs in their designs.

Fringe has been a fashion trend in years past as well, and still continued today in jackets and boots mainly. It comes from the Native American heritage, and gives these clothing items a vintage feel. Fringe adds a fun feeling to clothing as it bounces about when you walk.

Mixing fur and fringe this season is the designer Monique Capelta. Her couture boot designs are known all over Hollywood and the world. She truly creates some masterpieces in the world of footwear and her Sahara Breeze Black boots are an example of what you can do when you mix fur and fringe in a boot.

These boots are 45 centimeters tall with an 8 centimeter wooden stiletto heel. These knee high boots are made of black suede leather and have a black rabbit fur body. They have dangling black leather fringe and a full inside zipper to make it easy to take them on and off. These particular boots make any outfit look sleek, sophisticated and fun.

Several celebrities have been spotted wearing these exact boots including Melanie Griffith, Tia Carrere, Kathy Hilton and Jodi Lyn O’Keefe. If you are trying to follow celebrity fashion, you could not go wrong with these particular boots! Whether we like it or not, famous people always get access to the latest trends before we do, but we can learn from them and follow suit.

The world of fashion keeps growing and changing each season, but several things remain the same: Black, leather and fur will never go out of style. By investing in a cool, chic pair of boots that blends all of these elements, you will have a pair of cool “kicks” that you can wear for many years to come. Investing in your wardrobe is never a mistake as long as you are brave enough to always wear what you buy!

Capelta Chita (Women's) - PrintsThis Fall and Winter season is going to be one of stark contrasts in the fashion world. Elegance and grace will be balanced by sexiness and wild styles. There seems to be a little something for everyone no matter the age, size or body type. One of the trends that are coming back into style is animal prints. I know you are probably wondering when these prints went out of style in the first place. You probably own some animal print clothing or handbags in your own wardrobe, right?

It is not so much that these prints went out of fashion, so do not depair and think you have been walking around as a big fashion faux pas! However, the way in which animal print has been worn in the past in a bit different. When they first came into vogue, people would dress head to toe in cheetah, zebra or leopard prints and think nothing of it. However, today that would a tacky way to go in your wardrobe. This fashion season is more about subtlety and making a statement with your animal print accessories and shoes.

As an example, one awesome look many women are using is pairing a cool pair of blue jeans with a pointed toed animal print heel. This look is very sexy, chic and trendy while still be affordable to most women. Another great way to wear animal print is with a handbag such as the ones we have all seen that are using a giraffe print design. These are an inexpensive route to take, but can really jazz up an outfit quickly.

If you are more of a risk taker in your attire, you may want to try out the Capelta Chita boots. These furry foot coverings are all the rage in the couture fashion world. They are 34 centimeters tall with a 7 centimeter heel height. They are a mocha suede leather booth with faux cheetah fur. These are Indian inspired boots with cool beaded tassels on the sides. One unique feature is the hidden platform heel underneath the boot. There is also a full zipper in back and a hip add-on leg extension as well.

This fashion season is truly about taking some risks with your wardrobe. Animal prints are a great way to accomplish that goal. If you are a little apprehensive about jumping out there too far, start by trying some simple accessories that complement your outfit. For instance, wear a nice pair of dark jeans with a boyfriend jacket and a zebra print tank underneath. Or try some animal inspired earrings or necklace to jazz up your look.

Everyone should work with the body type, frame and coloring they have. You can find animal print fashions in all shapes, sizes and colors, so this is one of those fashion ideas that can truly work for all women. Too much is never a good thing, so make sure to wear your prints in moderation. This is one look you can definitely pull off with very little effort!

Torn b/w UGGs and EMUs? Read me!

Review Date: December 16, 2008
Reviewer: P. Kapur, New York, NY
I spent several days researching the right pair of boots. I narrowed it down to UGGs which had very positive reviews but were pricey, and EMUs which seemed to be basically the same product for half the price. Sounds too good to be true? It is.

Here is what I found:
- UGGs are made of sheepskin inside and out, and cost $130-$160 for
the most popular type (called Classic, short or tall), more for the
"fancier" varieties (but I honestly prefer the look of the Classic
model)
- EMUs have TWO types of products: (1) sheepskin inside and out, and
(2) cowhide outside, merino wool inside. The first variety cost the
same as the UGGs, the second one (not as cozy, not as comfi) cost
about half the price

So, I went with the UGGs which appear to be the more original/popular and am VERY VERY happy - these boots really insulate you from the harsh cold completely. Happy feet are worth the $$ for me in thise case. I got the tall variety in grey, and LOVE LOVE LOVE them.

Another misconception that I'd like to correct - NEITHER is 100% waterproof - as in they'll basically keep you warm and dry in a reasonable amount of rain/snow, but if you drench them it will show (common sense). UGGs has real waterproof models which are more like regular snow boots etc. UGGs also has a water-resistant treatment to improve the durability, but friends I spoke to didn't do that and haven't had any water seeping in when she's worn UGGs in the rain.

So basically, the real deal sheepskin product costs the same (and is similar in quality, comfort).

I had such a hard time figuring this out - shame on all the websites for sneakily pretending that the cheaper EMUs are made of the same material, which they are not!
i wish i didnt wait so long to buy these :)

OMG these are the best boots i have ever bought!! they are so warm and comfortable .. i cant explain in words how fantastic they are!! I only wish that i jumped on the "ugg"ly boot bandwagon last year!! I got the Chocolate, mainly because i know that the sand can stain easier and i personally prefer darker shoes. I am so happy with my purchase i think i might be getting some family members a pair for the holiday! i do agree to order one size smaller, i was hesitant, because i have large feet (10) but the 9 fits like a glove.
you will not regret this purchase!!
Best darn boots EVER!

If you're looking for comfortable boots to wear in any weather, Uggs Classic Tall are perfect!!!! I loved them from the moment I slipped my feet into them. I can wear them anywhere, any time of year. My feet don't sweat or get too warm in summer, and they definitely stay warm and dry in winter. I LOVE THESE BOOTS!
I got these boots several years ago and they still look good as new

These are wonderfully warm and comfortable boots that really last. I got these boots when they first came out and there was a mad rush to buy every time they were in the stores. Guess what? The early adopters like me are still buying these boots when the furor's not quite as hot as it once was.

So--how are my Uggs Classics holding up? On the outside, they still look good as new. The sheepskin insole is felting at the toes, but for less than $[...], I can get a new insole.

These are great boots and like me, you will probably keep them as favorites for years. Yes, I add a new pair of Uggs to my closet every year. I initially balked at the price, but these boots honestly have held up a lot better than many other shoes I've had and they're the most comfortable thing around for people with cold feet!

The boots are ALIVE. When I put my foot inside, the shearling wrapped around and through my toes and foot. Wonderful! Even a half size too small, I didn't want to take them off. Needless to say, I returned them. I did not reorder the long boot because if you have big legs, your pants won't fit inside. I am going to order the Ultimate Short Boot so that my pants will fit over them. As always, AMAAZON service is great.
